These classes are suitable for all experience levels from keen amateur performers, professional actors and those who are new to performance.
After a two year hiatus, our popular Adult Acting Classes, hosted by our Artistic Director, Rosanna Sloan, are back!
If you are looking for drop-in acting classes led by a theatre professional, this is the group for you!

07 June - Directing
Tips and techniques for how to direct a scene, structure rehearsals and discuss the role of the director.
14 June - Clowning
Physical comedy is a key skill for any ‘clown’. This workshop will take the group through some great techniques to bring out physical comedy in a performance.
21 June - Skits and Sketches
Using the lessons of the week before, the group will create non verbal skits, giving the opportunity to use these skills in action and devise original situations and characters.
28 June - Walkabout Acts
A walkabout act is a staple in street theatre. Learn about what they are, examples of them and some basics on how to create an effective walkabout act. This lesson will cover improv, clowning and character creation. There is an opportunity to perform these at The Light UP Festival on 16th July.
05 July - Walkabout Acts
Continuing the work from the week before, adding, improving and testing out ideas for engaging walkabout acts. There is an opportunity to perform these at The Light UP Festival on 16th July.

19 July - The Power of Pauses
Taking a look at a piece of work by Samuel Beckett, the group will be taken through different types of pauses, how to perform them and unlock their power.
26 July - A Game within a Play
This week we will explore how games can be used outside of warm ups to create engaging and always fresh scenes.
2nd Aug - Exploring Scripts
In this session we will be exploring three different scripts, with the aim of selecting one to performin November.
9th Aug -Tackling the Text - The Basics
Taking training from Barbara Houseman, we will look at some techniques to get to know a new text.
30 Aug - Handling Modern Text
Taking training from Barbara Houseman, we will look at some techniques of how to approach modern text.
6 Sep - Building Your Character
Taking training from Barbara Houseman and Stanislavski we will cover a range of exercises to help you find your character.
