Losing someone you love is never easy, especially when you don't understand why they've gone. Annie worries what she has done wrong, did she cause it? All she hears is that he's looking down on her... but why?
A beautiful story told in a sensitive way to pull at the heartstrings and leave the audience full of warmth. Looking Down on Me is an enchanting, touching and uplifting puppetry performance for children aged 7+, their families and adults alike. Created in partnership with children's bereavement charity, Simon Says.

Looking Down On Me follows 8 year old Annie through her experiences with grief, sensitively exploring the many misconceptions and thoughts that children may experience when faced with the death of a loved one. Artistic Director Rosanna Sloan uses her own experience with grief and her expertise in puppetry to tell this unique story of unexpected loss, the trials of understanding and the journey to acceptance.
So far, Looking Down On Me has been to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and toured to over 3000 people at schools and community groups in 2019. In 2021, Unexpected Places received funding from Arts Council England to remake Looking Down On Me as a resource for junior schools and bereavement charities.
